50 Journal Prompts For Self Growth

‘’Don’t let unspoken words make a permanent  home in the back of your throat, you shouldn’t get used to staying silent when all your heart wants to do is scream’’- Madlina Coman

Sometimes we need to graft space to learn and unlearn certain principles, opinions, and theories that we have been exposed to by experience, circumstances, and situations.

We need to delve deep to explore the undiscovered parts by prompting questions that can give direction on what activities to eliminate.

In the course of surviving through the cracks, quest for balance, through your building, rebuilding, tearing down, dark times, deep waves and high tides we have to strike an anchor for sanity, for tracking how far we have journeyed, what mistake we have made, better opinions and decisions we ought to be implementing.

Even as the hands of time stamps without delay we have to make out time to outline, revamp, and analyze our lives and the steps and decision we make. It is important to remember that we are the only ones who hold the key to our own peace, calmness, and happiness in this life and what we do.

Navigating through the journey of survival can be tough sometimes with unknown depths of uncertainty, flaws, and challenges.

There are days when pushing on is hard and requires enormous effort to keep trying. Adopting curiosity to our experience creates adequate space that gives us a chance to shift our perspective and make room to talk to our self in different ways.

By adequate space I mean journaling; Journaling helped me strip my thoughts down on paper, eliminating doubts as my curiosity created a space for questions to be asked and answered. I do not see journaling as a mere act but a therapeutic tool which can evidently transform your life.

Journaling is the process of decluttering thoughts and emotions and it creates space for you to critically analyze and make a reasonable decision.

Journaling is part of how I stay healthy; it helps clarify my thoughts and my feelings when I am stuck in overwhelming situations, overthinking, overanalyzing, getting all congested thoughts and putting it on paper relives and soothe me.

Journaling as well allows us to know ourselves better to discover several layers and version of ourselves.

Journaling enables us to explore ourselves and learn how to grow as individuals. It is an activity that has been recommended by mental health practitioners as it helps us examine how we think and feel and how our own minds work.

Simply writing about what happens during the day isn’t going to result in personal growth; journaling has to be done in a more introspective way to be beneficial to our self-development and one reflective way is with journal prompts. Journal prompts equip you with the right beneficial tools to journal.

Journaling shouldn’t be a chore or a difficult task but an easy and relieving process but if you find yourself in an overwhelming situation and you want to journal but can’t, these journal prompts will serve as a guide.

Firm Reminder

In the quest and journal of self-growth and development, there will bad times, difficult moments, uncertainties, self-doubts, failures, mistakes, imperfections, challenges, pain but I want you to remember that the truth of your becoming lies hidden within your scars.

There will be times when surviving seems impossible wilted and torn like a wildflower in the middle of concrete yet you manage to flourish.

Stop trying to build a brick home in people who are too temporary for sandcastles.

Remember that you deserve to be valued for every ounce of beauty that you so selflessly bring into this world.

Don’t etch yourself clean for people who do not deserve your presence. If you do any cleaning at all, clean out your circle of friends and keep the ones who nurture your potential, rather than the ones who pressure you into living up to your potential, even on days when you need a break. Break up with your doubts and scrub yourself clean of expectations.

You don’t need to ask life for permission to be who you are dreaming of becoming. We spend way too much time looking outside ourselves for love, validation, happiness, fulfillment, and permission to start living, without realizing that everything we need is always inside. The woman you envy, the one your soul yearns to become is already within.

Open your eyes to see her, open your heart, your soul to welcome her in; she is perfect in her imperfection. Her vulnerability has transformed her into the most beautiful tapestry you have ever seen and she adorns your flesh.

Stop looking for light in other stars when the brightest one shines within your ribcage!

When life tries you again, learn to sing yourself to sleep with self-healing hymns that remind you of the sovereign that resides inside.
