I am quite sure you must have asked yourself these questions; what are the things to do in a week, how can I have a perfect week? what are things you should do weekly?
Don’t worry, you’re not alone! At one point in my life, I had a lot of things to do in a week! Most times, I couldn’t meet up or just get those things done! So I decided to make repeated attempts at having a great week.
Sometimes I succeeded. Other times, it didn’t work out so well.
After a while, I finally figured it out, and guess what? With the right mindset and knowledge, it becomes easier to pull those things off!
I thought that someone out there might also have similar struggles so I decided to compile and write a shortlist of twelve important things to do in a week. That’s if you’re looking for a way to have an easier and more productive week.

1. Make A To-Do List

Making a to-do list is one of the most important things that you must do in a week. The benefits of making and having a detailed, neat, and streamlined to-do list are inexhaustible! It not only gives you clarity but it also keeps you prepared to solve any possible hindrance that could mess up your week!
At the beginning of each week, make a to-do list of all the important things to do weekly. I’m sure you have a lot of things to do in a week so making a to-do list will not only ease off your stress but it also gets rid of every form of confusion.
Yes, make it in a goal-setting kind of format to help you get familiar with those tasks and keep you prepared. Make the tasks and take them as your major priority as the week progresses.
Ensure that only important activities should be on that to-do list! You can even place a reminder if you made the list on your mobile phone so you won’t forget. You can also attach dates that fall in those weeks to each of those activities to help you perform better. You’re sure to have a splendid week if you do this every week.
2. Invest In Yourself And Expand Your Knowledge

Here’s a little trick I’m going to show you. Of all things to do in a week, DO not ever skip this one. Learning is one of the many ways by which we improve in every aspect of our lives.
Learning a new word could improve your diction just like learning a new skill can increase your chances of getting a job.
The advancement in technology has made learning easier and access to materials has also been made easier. There are billions of information on the internet and every day, billions more are added! You could learn a new language just by watching YouTube videos or by enrolling for courses on Coursera.
You could also learn by reading books. Whichever one you choose, make sure it works for you and that something new gets into that big brain of yours every week!
Like a wise man once said, “a man who stops learning, starts dying.” If you are currently in search of some valuable resources that can effectively expand your knowledge I have created a list of some life-changing books, transformation and motivational podcasts, and inspiring TED talks that will give your life a better shape and form.
3. Indulge In Self-Care

One of the things you should not neglect among the many things to do in a week is self-care. Most people in an attempt to achieve their goals and become more productive usually end up neglecting this particular activity.
Self-care simply involves doing things that make you happy and keeps your mind and body in a great state and the list varies.
Self-care should be among the top three things to do in a week especially if you’re someone who’s intentional about his/her personal growth and development.
Depending on your personality, a variety of “self-care” activities are available. You can find a list of simple self-care practices for a healthy mind, body, and soul.
It can be getting a new hairdo or maybe even a shopping spree! For others, it might be spending more time alone, eating healthier fruits, or plenty of rest and sleep.
Personally, I enjoy going to see the movies and getting some pedicures and manicures. Like I said earlier, what matters is your interests and desires.
However, always ensure that you take out quality time specifically for yourself during the week. If you’re not feeling too good, take a break. You won’t die if you catch a little nap!
4. Exercise And Keep Fit

There’s over a fifty percent possibility that a person with a healthy or fit body will most likely have a fit mind. To be fit doesn’t mean you have to become a sportsman or woman.
It simply means to have your body is a condition that keeps your muscles and joints in a great condition. No matter what kind of Job and activity you’re involved in, you need to be in a good health condition to get certain things done.
It’s not like not keeping fit is going to make you a failure. No, it won’t. However, it will boost your health and increase your chances of a longer life. Exercising at least once a week is an important activity that I’ll advise any person, young or old to engage in.
5. Spend Time With Friends And Loved Ones

Nothing changes your mood like meeting an old friend! I know right? The thrill of laughing and talking about childhood memories can be a whole lot of fun.
Most times, we get carried away by the hustle and bustle of life and its numerous activities that we forget to spend more time with our loved ones.
Sometimes, pay a friend or an old aunt a random visit. Go cycling or visit a video game store with your siblings and don’t forget dinner with the entire family. Ensure that a week doesn’t escape without you spending time with a loved one.
And yes, this will require consistent and intentional efforts. On some days, you might be a little late to that date.
But don’t worry. Maintaining a good relationship with friends and family can be a bit difficult and maybe even demanding but trust me, it’s worth it. So, the next time Mom calls you for dinner, don’t say no! You might miss a big plate of soup or chicken.
6. Eat Healthy Balanced Diet

Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” – Adelle Davis
I never got to meet the guy who wrote this but he definitely had a solid reason for writing it. Amongst your “top 12 important things to do in a week” list, this one should be kept at a very important spot in your mind.
Bad eating habits can seriously mess up your week and a great breakfast can be the deciding factor of how good or awful your day can get.
Let me share a funny story. I’ve always been a stress eater. Whenever I get super tired after a busy workday, I begin to stress eat which most times, happens late at night.
One time, I ate so late that dinner didn’t digest properly. To cut the long story short, I spent the next day in the toilet, I couldn’t go to work. All that drama could have been avoided if I did not eat late and also stress eat.
This week, take extra effort to end every bad eating habit. This week, eat fresher foods: whole and natural foods and not junk. Eat earlier and drink lots of water.
Next time you want to get a drink, pick freshly squeezed fruit juice and not a soda. People die daily from terrible health diseases caused by poor eating habits and sincerely, I don’t want to ever find your name on that list.
If you’ll have a successful and productive week, watch what you eat! That stuff matters!
7. Conquer Your Fears And Limitations

I once attended a seminar where one of the speakers talked about fear. One of the striking things he said was that fear was a crippling factor to any man who wanted to grow.
Fear is a language that every person who lives on Earth is familiar with. We all have fears; some of which are products of what we have experienced or products of other people’s experiences.
Nevertheless, they all share one quality; they cripple us. For you, it might be the fear of the dark or the fear of water.
You’re only scared of what you do not understand and know. The moment you understand that phenomenon, fear disappears automatically. Every week, I’d suggest you write down a fear you want to deal with and begin to take practical steps in defeating it.
One of such steps that I’ll recommend is RESEARCH. Read books, watch videos or surf the net and find out more about that fear. If this falls into your category of things to do in a week then you’re already on your journey to living the dream life.
The more you know about it, the easier it becomes to conquer it. You can also involve a few friends who you know can help and support you. After that, confront your fears. It won’t be easy but it’s possible to break out of the chains of whatever kind of fear, you struggle with.
I used to be afraid of being a mom. I thought I’d be a terrible mom when I get married. However, I started reading a few books on parenting and I found out it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Soon enough, that fear died a natural death. I’m not yet a mom though but I conquered that fear. The same can be possible for you!
Lastly, don’t be afraid of taking risks. Oh wait, I meant CALCULATED RISKS! Some risks are just not worth taking at all. If you’ll conquer those fears, you have to learn to do it boldly. I conquered most of my teenage fears at 20. If I could, then you can too!
8. Be Updated On Improving Your Finances

The journey of a successful financial life requires a lot. It will require determination, hard work, and lots more.
It will also cost you one very important thing; Consistency in growth. Rome was never built in a day, that I know. However, you should know that your finances will play a major role in how successful you’ll become.
Hence, you need to always improve what you know about your skills. Make efforts to learn various skills that can land you jobs and contracts.
Read and watch the latest news about the world’s economy or better still, your nation’s! Always ensure that you’re aware of every and any new changes that occur in the financial world.
Always make a mental note that this should be one of your priorities among the many things to do in a week that you might want to achieve. Your success is dependent on that!
9. Embrace Mindfulness And Positivity In Your Thoughts And Actions

The state of your mind during each week can become a serious asset or a liability to you. Your mind can be a very useful and helpful tool depending on how you use it and what you feed it.
This week, I want you to make up your mind to be positive. It’s not always easy because whether you like it or not, bad things are always going to happen.
Most of which, you do not have the power to change or prevent. The best thing you can do for yourself, your mental health, and the people around you is to always have a positive outlook on life.
Having a positive attitude to life will help you see only the good possibilities and not the bad ones.
When you begin to become more positive conscious, it becomes easier to attract good and better things. Your week will become even better when you learn how powerful it is to keep a positive approach to life.
10. Declutter And Organize

As humans, a lot of things are fighting for our attention, and most times, we do not really do a good job at handling them. Hence, a lot of us have unnecessary things that eat up our space, consume our time, and drain us of our energy.
There is a need to remove every unnecessary factor that keeps you from growing and sometimes, that includes important factors too.
Let me explain. If you’re someone that has not placed your priorities properly, you might find yourself in a situation where you either have to things you do not need or you’re doing things you do not need.
Knowing your priorities makes it easier to make decisions and keeps your eyes on the goal. At that point, it will be easier to get rid of all useless weights.
Decluttering also helps you reorganize perfectly. So, you might need to let go of an old dress, a relationship, or just anything that keeps your progress.
Getting rid of all that junk mentally and physically actually makes room for better things. You’ll have a good week when you learn how to get rid of things you don’t need while organizing what you need.
11. Review The Statistics Of Your Weekly Goals And Events

This is one of the very important things to do in a week and it must become a weekly habit for you too. I am sure that as a person who is intentional about personal growth, you have weekly goals? Well if you don’t, you should begin to make plans to do so.
Your progress, success, and growth in a year will be determined by the steps you take daily, weekly, and monthly. Keeping track of the progress of your goals weekly is an important habit that you must imbibe.
Ensure that at the end of every week, you review the progress of your goals. If possible, reward yourself for the success of those goals or discipline yourself further to achieve the failed ones. Find out your mistakes, problems or hindrances, or probable reasons why you failed to achieve the failed goals and make plans to overcome them.
12. Prepare For The Next Week
A wise man once said; “he who prepares more for war bleeds less when it arrives.”
Now guess who said that? Of course, it’s me. Anyway, the point is, preparing for anything makes you better equipped to handle it. The same applies to every week of your life.
Never forget to plan and prepare for every new week. Anticipate any possible problems and end them before they even come up. Cross-check the mistakes you made in the previous weeks and take steps to avoid them in the incoming ones.
Make plans and ensure that your body and mind are in a great state to begin the next week. Never enter a week without plans. It’s a risk too big to take!
Among all the things to do in a week, never forget this one. Taking steps to becoming a better person will cost you but trust me, it’s worth it.
Save this for later!

Wow! this is another beautiful read that emphasizes the importance of self-care that you can do every day. The author has somewhere mentioned that Self-care simply involves doing things that make you happy and keeps your mind and body in a great state. This is so true and self-caring men and women have stress-free minds.
